Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Manager or Director of Warehouse Operations to lead end-to-end warehouse operations across our multi-country network: China (Shenzhen and related facilities), Vietnam, Chicago (USA), and European sites. You will own operational excellence, scalability, team leadership, process standardization, inventory accuracy, safety/compliance, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement for high-volume pick-and-pack, inbound from nearby factories, and outbound air/parcel flows that support our direct-fulfillment model.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a high-growth environment. You will build and manage local teams, implement best practices across sites, drive KPIs (accuracy, on-time ship, productivity, cost per order), and partner closely with operations, logistics, technology, and customer success teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily warehouse operations (receiving, put-away, inventory control, pick-and-pack, packing, quality checks, outbound staging) across China, Vietnam, Chicago, and European facilities.
- Drive multi-site standardization of SOPs, WMS utilization, layout optimization, labor planning, and continuous improvement Achieve and exceed KPIs: pick accuracy (≥99.8%), same-day/ next-day ship rates, inventory accuracy, on-time performance, productivity, safety, and cost efficiency.
- Manage, coach, and develop warehouse managers/supervisors and frontline teams; build high-performance culture and succession plans. Ensure full compliance with local regulations (customs/bonded where applicable, labor, safety, fire, environmental) in China, Vietnam, USA, and Europe; maintain audit readiness.
- Partner with inbound (factory collection / supplier coordination), outbound logistics/air freight, and technology teams to optimize end-to-end flow and support rapid volume growth.
- Control costs (labor, space, materials, damage/shrink) while scaling capacity; lead facility expansion, layout redesign, or new site setup as needed.
- Implement and refine performance dashboards, root-cause analysis for exceptions, and white-glove / custom packaging processes.
- Travel regularly between sites and report progress, risks, and improvement plans to senior leadership.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of progressive warehouse / fulfillment / 3PL / distribution experience, with at least 4–6 years in multi-site or senior management roles. Experience in e-commerce, cross-border, apparel/home goods, or high-velocity pick-and-pack preferred.
- Proven track record managing large-scale facilities (tens to hundreds of thousands of sq ft) and teams; strong leadership, coaching, and people-development skills.
- Hands-on experience with WMS, inventory accuracy programs, labor management systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of cross-border / air parcel / customs-related warehouse flows; familiarity with China and Vietnam operations highly valued; experience with US or European sites a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills; comfortable with KPIs, cost modeling, and process redesign.
- Excellent communication in English; Mandarin Chinese proficiency strongly preferred (for China operations). Additional languages (Vietnamese, etc.) a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across China, Vietnam, USA (Chicago), and Europe.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience scaling operations in high-growth startups or 3PLs serving DTC brands.
- Exposure to bonded warehouse, de minimis / informal entry, or direct-from-Asia models.
- Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar certifications. Prior multi-country (Asia + North America/Europe) warehouse leadership.
