What to do:
Design, operate, and improve enterprise virtualization platforms with a focus on automation, reliability, and scalable operations. This role combines VMware and OpenShift expertise with infrastructure-as-code and modern DevOps practices to deliver stable and efficient environments. You will also contribute to introducing AI-supported automation into daily operations.

• Operate and improve virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, VCF, vCenter, OpenShift Virtualization)

• Design and evolve scalable, highly available infrastructure environments

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize systems using tools such as vROps, Prometheus, and Grafana

• Automate provisioning and lifecycle management using Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell

• Integrate AI-driven automation capabilities into operational workflows

• Develop and maintain runbooks, manage incidents, and ensure SLA/SLO compliance

• Apply security best practices, including least privilege and secure secrets management

• Support critical operations, including participation in on-call activities

Requirements

You check these boxes:

• Active working experience in the last 5+ years with VMware and/or OpenShift Virtualization

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure concepts (networking, storage, high availability, disaster recovery, backup)

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and configuration tools such as Ansible

• Experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., Git)

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or vROps

• Familiarity with AI-driven automation or integration of AI into operational workflows

• Understanding of security practices such as secrets management and access control

• Professional proficiency English, German is beneficial

• A competitive and performance-related salary dependent on your professional and personal qualifications is granted - we are obliged by law to quote the minimum wage of EUR 3000,- gross per month for this full time position.
