Job Description

The SVP operates as a strategic partner to the COO and field leadership—facilitating disciplined operating reviews, developing and implementing systematic tools and process changes, surfacing and addressing root causes, and mobilizing resources to address performance gaps. This role also serves as the enterprise escalation point for operational hotspots, deploying targeted SWAT support to evaluate, stabilize, improve, and scale performance.

Depending on the individual and final organizational design, this role may also oversee Facilities and Integration functions to ensure operational consistency, capital discipline, and seamless onboarding of acquired assets.

Core Responsibilities

Enterprise Performance Management & Operations KPI Governance

  • Own and maintain the enterprise operating KPI framework, ensuring alignment from Board-level metrics to corporate, regional, and facility-level scorecards
  • Standardize definitions, reporting methodologies, and performance thresholds and in collaboration with data analytics team help drive a data-driven operational culture
  • Support structured operating reviews that move beyond reporting to disciplined and accountable, forward action-oriented sessions
  • Ensure clear action plans, accountability ownership, and follow-through on performance gaps
  • Translate performance outcomes into executive Board-ready reporting

Build & Lead Internal Continuous Improvement / OE Team

  • Establish and scale an internal Operational Excellence team embedded within the enterprise
  • Deploy Lean, Six Sigma, root cause, and structured problem-solving methodologies across field and corporate functions
  • Build replicable playbooks for operational best practices that can be rolled out across the entire field organization
  • Develop internal talent (and pipeline for future operators) and create a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision making

Enterprise-Wide Operational Initiatives

Lead cross-functional initiatives that materially impact EBITDA, cash flow, and clinical efficiency, including but not limited to:

  • OR utilization optimization
  • Staffing model redesign and labor productivity
  • Supplies standardization and cost containment
  • Revenue cycle throughput improvements
  • Clinical throughput and scheduling efficiency
  • Site-level EBITDA turnaround plans
  • Ensure disciplined stage gates, ROI tracking, and measurable impact tied to financial outcomes.

PMO & Cost Management Governance

  • Lead the enterprise Project Management Office (PMO)
  • Prioritize initiatives aligned with strategic and financial objectives
  • Drive cost management and margin expansion initiatives across operations
  • Ensure visibility into initiative ROI, timeline adherence, and resource allocation
  • Eliminate initiative fatigue by prioritizing and sequencing work effectively across the enterprise

Operational SWAT Team / Performance Stabilization

  • Establish and oversee a rapid-response “SWAT” team deployed to operational hotspots.
  • Address underperforming facilities or regions through root cause analysis and structured intervention plans
  • Partner with regional and field leadership to stabilize and return sites to performance benchmarks
  • Ensure lessons learned are codified and scaled system-wide

Profile & Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in consulting, healthcare services, multi-site operations, or private equity-backed environments
  • Proven experience leading enterprise PMO or operational excellence functions
  • Clear ability to work with a variety of personality types and drive action through influence and not just direct reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to drive measurable margin improvement across distributed operations
  • Deep understanding of operational levers including labor, supply chain, throughput, and capital efficiency
  • Strong financial fluency with the ability to connect operational metrics to EBITDA and cash performance
  • Executive presence with the ability to facilitate high-accountability discussions at the Board and field levels
  • MBA, MHA, or advanced degree preferred.
