Job Description
The role ensures innovation moves intentionally from exploration to trusted, production-grade systems that improve efficiency, quality, scalability, and scientific impact within regulated, clinical environments and owns the what and why of applied innovation by setting direction, priorities, guardrails, and trade-offs. The role also works closely with IT, Quality, Regulatory, Privacy, Security, and commercial leadership to ensure solutions are credible, defensible, and scalable.

Strategy & Portfolio
- Develop and deliver a roadmap for the application of analytics, AI, automation, and digital capabilities across Cytel’s current services, future service models, and emerging clinical domains, aligned with scientific rigor and regulatory expectations.
- Set clear priorities and guardrails to ensure these capabilities improve service quality, efficiency, competitiveness, and long-term trust, balancing near-term impact with longer-term transformation.
Strategic Partnership & Leadership
- Shape clear client-facing offerings and go-to-market strategies that translate analytics and digital capabilities into credible, differentiated value for regulated and clinical contexts.
- Represent Cytel externally through thought leadership and partnerships that strengthen market relevance while remaining consistent with Cytel’s scientific and regulatory reputation.
- Partner in an influential and compelling way across Cytel’s senior leadership team to drive alignment, engagement and collaboration on actionable strategies.
- Ensure analytics and digital capabilities deliver real business and client value and are adopted in practice, whether through tools, workflow changes, process improvements, or new service models.
- Establish operating models that support clear ownership, support, evolution, and accountability, working across business, IT, Quality, and partner functions as capabilities scale.
Systems & Architecture
- Define system intent, success criteria, and lifecycle expectations across analytics and digital platforms, with clear distinctions between exploratory, proof-of-concept, and production systems appropriate to regulated and clinical use.
- Guide architectural decisions to balance capability, compliance, cost, security, supportability, and validation effort, ensuring systems can evolve without undermining stability or trust.
Governance & Ethics
- In partnership, establish governance principles that ensure the responsible, ethical, and compliant use of analytics, AI, automation, and digital technologies across Cytel.
- Embed governance, validation, and risk management into system design and operations so solutions can be explained, monitored, audited, and defended with confidence.
- Strong experience in AI, product strategy, or emerging technology leadership, ideally in a global or enterprise context.
- Demonstrated ability to lead transformation and build new offerings based in collaborative and evolving environments.
- Proven track record of launching and scaling AI/ML-powered products, preferably involving autonomous or semi-autonomous agents.
- Deep understanding of LLMs, agent frameworks, orchestration tools, APIs, and AI infrastructure.
- Familiarity with agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGPT, Open Agents, etc.).
- Experience in regulated environments or highly scalable enterprise platforms.
- Exposure to multi-agent coordination, self-reflection loops, or tool-using AI architectures.
- Experience in biometrics and biostatistics, or strong familiarity.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a bias toward action.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with C-level leaders, enterprise customers, and cross-functional global teams.
- Technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
