Lead supplier performance across critical digital services and help ensure NZTA gets the best value, service quality, and outcomes from key vendor relationships.

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

As Senior Vendor Performance Specialist, you will lead the management of supplier performance across a portfolio of important digital service contracts. You’ll work at the centre of vendor relationships, ensuring suppliers deliver against agreed service levels, contractual commitments, cost expectations, and business needs. This is a great opportunity for someone who combines commercial judgement, relationship strength, and operational focus to improve outcomes across a complex digital environment.

In this role, you will

• Lead day-to-day vendor performance management across ICT and outsourced service providers
• Build strong, constructive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Monitor service levels, contractual obligations, risks, and performance metrics
• Identify performance issues early and drive effective resolution and improvement plans
• Support governance reviews, annual compliance activities, and regular supplier reporting
• Provide clear analysis and recommendations to senior leaders on supplier performance and service quality
• Work with contract owners and business leads to support renewals, service improvements, and dispute resolution
• Help create a high-performing vendor environment that delivers value for money and reliable service outcomes

Ko koe tēnei | About you

You’ll be an experienced vendor or supplier management professional who is confident working across commercial, operational, and relationship dimensions. You’ll be comfortable navigating complexity, influencing a wide range of stakeholders, and using data and insight to improve performance.

• Proven experience in ICT vendor management, supplier performance, contract engagement, or service management
• Strong commercial acumen and confidence in managing supplier discussions and negotiations
• Experience working with reporting, risk, and compliance obligations
• Ability to build credibility and influence across business, technology, and supplier stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including reporting for senior audiences
• Relevant tertiary qualification in ICT or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent is desirable
