Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a highly motivated, personable, organized Senior Vegetation Ecologist to perform program development and execution for a wide variety of projects within various development sectors such as oil and gas, mining, and transportation within the vegetation ecology and wetland disciplines. As a senior member of the team, you will apply your expertise to develop and effectively execute work plans and budgets, write and quality review plans, reports, and proposals, and support technical innovation and development of the team. You will work independently and/ or supervise field and project teams at a discipline level to move projects toward closure in the most cost-effective manner. In this role, the junior and intermediate staff will look to you for mentorship and leadership.
This position may be located in either our Winnipeg or Saskatchewan offices.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Science - Biology, Ecology, Forestry, or related field.
Minimum 10 years’ related experience, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience including fieldwork.
Professional designation (P. Bio., R.P.F., P.Ag.) is an asset.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time, as well as working in the field. Fieldwork may include remote work, long drives, 1-2 week shifts away from home, exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
