Job Description

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

PROCESS (Preconstruction/Coordination/Field):

  • Support the project team in problem-solving efforts for projects using BIM applications.
  • Support the development and check adherence to the BIM Execution Plan, which includes file naming, file sharing checklists, level of detail matrix, object data requirements, and BIM processes within construction projects
  • Gap model missing scope to support building coordination.
  • Perform quality checks of model components for usability and accuracy.
  • Conduct detailed BIM and construction document reviews for constructability and Built in Quality (BiQ). Bring all concerns to the attention of the appropriate design professional or trade partner for resolution.
  • Review submittals and shop drawings to the construction model. Work to resolve any differences in interpretation.
  • Support model-based data management process through the project lifecycle.
  • Support Laser scanning of in-field conditions, register scans, and perform variance analysis.
  • Support and ensure consistent use of the Boldt Production System (BPS) philosophy, tools, and tracking for VDC efforts within construction projects.

PEOPLE:

  • Act as liaison with architects, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, inspectors, other Boldt job staff and owner’s representatives in resolving issues related to VDC.
  • Facilitate meetings regarding coordination and constructability with other contractors, client, or A/E representatives.
  • Develop reports on VDC activities such as coordination progress, outstanding issues, quality control, and cost status.
  • Teach our team members to use VDC and BIM software.
  • Describe and communicate the effects of technology to our project teams, our project management, and owners.
  • Support and promote companywide internship programs.

TECHNOLOGY:

  • Setup and manage Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro.
  • Create Integrated Models in Revit and Navisworks and other products to coordinate the building.
  • Support our Strategic Technology Evaluations with corporate technologists.
  • Communicate fundamentals of project data management through project systems, including data extraction, processing, and visualization.
  • Create construction logistic and phase plans for Construction Planning. Content creation may include material lifts, cranes, and safety equipment.
  • Work with the project scheduler to create 4D schedules linking model geometry to schedule activities.
  • Support implementation and training of Boldt’s Standard Technologies and ensure alignment with Boldt’s Standard Process.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
  • Four-year architecture, engineering, construction management or related degree.
  • Knowledge of design and construction process.
  • Solid understanding of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to subject area.
  • Two+ years’ experience in AECO industry with project delivery experience.
  • Experience with a variety of BIM applications including the Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Power Bi, BIM360 and Navisworks. Any 3D modeling experience is beneficial.
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence applications, Visual Programing (e.g., Dynamo), Automation Applications (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate), and Programing (any language) is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interact, and communicate openly with others.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position objects and operate tools or controls. Employee frequently uses computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to position self to maneuver in confined or awkward spaces. The employee regularly is required to remain in a stationary position and move to access people or machinery or workspaces. Employee is occasionally required to ascend and/or descend a ladder or stairs to reach work areas. The employee must regularly move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. The employee is regularly required to travel (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation) and frequently performs work on-site at construction work sites. Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee views computer monitor frequently. The employee is required to be able to effectively communicate while on the job site and throughout the completion of duties.

The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to maintain safety and prevent exposure to harmful materials. The environment for which this position functions may be exposed to prolonged loud noises and may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $$72,400 - $92,733 per year. This range represents what The Boldt Company reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered will be dependent upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to: candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, alignment with market data and internal equity as well as other business and organizational needs. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work at our Waukesha, WI office and at the local project site as needed.
