Job Description

The Senior Consultant working in a Varicent focused practice is responsible for the implementation of the Varicent suite of products to meet the client’s business and technical requirements. This position requires a self-starter with good communication skills who can manage their deliverables independently while working well with other project team members.

Responsibilities in this role include consulting throughout the full software implementation lifecycle, from requirements gathering, design, build, testing and go-live. Senior Consultants will help in leading client discovery and review sessions, perform configuration and development tasks and support clients through their testing process. An ideal candidate will have experience implementing a complex software solution within a defined project timeline.

Job Objectives
The ideal candidate should be able to:

  • Configure complex business scenarios within the Varicent platform
  • Develop technical solutions to new or highly complex problems that cannot be solved using existing methods or approaches
  • Easily navigate complex customer models and provide guidance to customers and OS consultants
  • Provide accurate effort hour estimates for defect remediation
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to define project scope, identify requirements, and estimate implementation efforts for new initiatives
  • Develop requirements & design documentation
  • Perform data validation, testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to colleague / team members
  • Approach a complex task or problem by breaking it down into its component parts and consider each part in detail, inclusive of identifying upstream and downstream impacts
  • Direct others on operational support tasks
  • Create operational process documentation in support of SOW
  • Understand when and how to switch to a different strategy when an initially selected one is unsuccessful
  • Monitor progress and put effort in where is most needed
  • Assist with creation of project work plan including sequencing of tasks, migration and implementation documentation

Requirements

Nice to Have Skills

  • 5+ years of configuration experience within the Varicent Platform
  • Hands-on experience with Varicent Calculations, Composer, Presenter, Workflow, and Reporting modules
  • Experience with data integration, ETL processes, and data validation
  • Experience designing complex incentive compensation plans
  • Strong SQL and database skills
  • Advanced skillsets in Excel / Spreadsheet software
  • Experience working in a client-facing consulting environment
  • Expert level communication skills including writing, listening and speaking
