Job Description

The Wind Systems Validation Engineering team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Validation Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. You will play a pivotal role in field testing wind turbines, focusing on certification, design validation, and risk mitigation. Your responsibilities will include managing prototype test sites, test turbines, and components, by contributing to the planning, installation, and operation of measurement systems for both onshore and offshore wind turbine validation projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all on-site prototype operations, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and environmental protocols throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Self-execute, or coordinate with third parties, field testing to contribute at designing, validating, and certifying onshore wind turbines
  • Organization and procurement of test equipment, selection of vendor, communication and negotiations with vendor and external institutes
  • Manage contracts with independent test institutes to ensure high-quality test data and reports are received on time
  • Travel to global test site locations to install, monitor, troubleshoot data systems.
  • Reporting and communication to certification bodies
  • Conduct the data analysis, and present the results to internal stakeholders
  • Operate wind turbines in specific operation modes according to test requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor or above degree in Engineering
  • Experience in working with measurement systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a global team
  • Availability to travel to test sites and climb wind turbines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects
  • Analytical and clear-thinking mindset, capable of investigating issues, summarizing information, drawing conclusions, and recommending solutions.
  • Basic Wind turbine system knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Valid class B driver's license

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in data analysis and software, Python, Matlab, FAMOS, or comparable
  • Previous experience in wind turbine design engineering
  • Familiarity with Mark VIe controllers, EGD bus, and Toolbox ST application.
  • Advanced degree in engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • In-depth knowledge of Wind turbine technology
