We are looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to strengthen a team responsible for developing and improving digital applications supporting financial and budgetary processes within a public-sector environment.
The UX/UI Designer will work closely with another UX/UI designer, business stakeholders, functional and technical teams to translate user needs and complex business requirements into intuitive, accessible and attractive digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and iterate wireframes, prototypes and visual interfaces based on user needs and business requirements.
- Apply modern UX/UI methodologies to create accessible, inclusive and user-friendly software.
- Conduct usability testing and use user feedback to support design decisions.
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to define and refine UX/UI solutions.
- Translate complex business and technical problems into simple, elegant design solutions.
- Ensure consistency in design, branding and user experience
- Develop, establish and maintain design systems
- Create responsive designs suitable for different screen sizes and devices.
- Work with content-driven pages and apply content design principles.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the overall design and development process.
Must-Have Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant UX/UI design experience, including at least 4 years as a UX Designer
- Demonstrable experience with Figma
- Demonstrable experience with professional design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision or equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience with Azure DevOps
- Strong experience designing and iterating wireframes, prototypes and visual interfaces
- Experience establishing and maintaining design systems
- Experience with responsive screen design
- Experience applying modern UX/UI methodologies with a focus on accessibility, inclusion and usability
- Dutch language proficiency at CEFR C2 level
- Bachelor's or Master's degree with a technical/engineering background, or equivalent professional experience in ICT.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on projects within the Flemish public sector, particularly within government departments involving interaction with agencies and/or political offices.
- Experience with content design and content-driven digital pages.
- Demonstrable experience with JIRA
