The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Senior Level 12 + years of experience in the field Unmanned Systems (UxS) Weapons. Subject Matter Expert in support of Department of War (DoW) and Combatant Command projects with Unmanned Systems to include but not limited to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), Unmanned Maritime Vessels, and Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV). The purpose of this position is to be able to utilize UxS and Weapons Expertise to guide projects and partners for the launch, release, and suspension systems on unmanned systems. They will also be responsible for assisting in the design and deployment of one-way attack (OWA) and special use UxS capabilities, as well as all necessary supporting acquisition activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of OWA systems and payloads per customer requirements.
  • Subject matter expert supporting the design, integration, production, testing, storage, transportation, and operational employment of explosive payloads for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), autonomous systems, and aerospace platforms.
  • Inform customers on the production life cycle of UxS from design to conception and implementation.
  • Work with engineers to design payloads, fuzing systems, and initiation architectures into Group 1-3 UAS and other airborne platforms, ensuring compatibility with airframes, power systems, mission software, and operational requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight for Electronic Safe and rm Device (EASD) and Electronic Safe and Arm Firing (ESAF) development, testing, and validation to ensure safe arming and firing of integrated payload systems.
  • Plan and execute explosive and flight test campaigns to evaluate blast, fragmentation, penetration, and overall UAS payload performance.
  • Support testing, range operations, and customer demonstrations by guiding on-site EOD support, explosive safety oversight, and technical troubleshooting with systems specific expertise.
  • Collaborate with program managers, systems engineers, software teams, production personnel, and government customers to ensure UAS payload integration efforts meet schedule, cost and mission requirements.
  • Interface with government sponsors, safety boards, and regulatory agencies to obtain approvals and present technical data supporting certification and operational fielding of UAS-delivered munitions.
  • Conduct supplier assessments and technical evaluations of explosive manufactures and component vendors to mitigate supply chain risks and identify qualified alternatives.
  • Support necessary acquisition activities with technical expertise and oversight.
  • Mentor EOD technicians and cross-functional personnel while coordinating resources to support expanding production, testing, and UAS integration demands.
  • Travel extensively within CONUS/OCONUS to support UAS integration, production, testing, and operational fielding activities.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current and Active Secret clearance and able to obtain TS/SCI and 12 years of experience in Explosive Ordnance.
  • Bomb Technician Certified from Dow and/or Law Enforcement Agency
  • Graduate of a DoW Explosive Ordnance School.
  • Subject matter expert in support the design, integration, production, testing, storage, transportation, and operational employment of explosive payloads for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), autonomous systems, and aerospace platforms
  • Advanced Understanding of UxS platforms and how they work.
  • Experience working with multiple Combatant Commands (COCOM) and an understanding of the problem sets within those COCOMs.
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite and experience conducting data and statistic manipulation.
  • Able to work individually and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communications skills able to brief senior leaders and decision makers.
  • Experience with armed UxS and the like weapons systems.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$78,000 - $163,800
