The pay range is $98,000.00 - $176,000.00

About therole  

As aSeniorUX Researcherwithin our Guest UX team, you’llbe at the forefront of Target’s evolving digital experience, shaping it for our guests and contributing to business growth.In this role,you willbe responsible forplanning, executing, and synthesizing research to create actionable insights for thecross functionalproduct development team. You will translate research data into powerful stories that help shape Target’s products. This role is a key partner to several functions in the digital group including product managers, UX product designers, engineers, data scientists, content designers, accessibility consultants, and site merchandisers.

You’lluse tried and true design methodologies such as human centered design thinking to understand guest needs, balance business ideas, deliver best-in-class design from concept to execution, while championing cross-functional experimentation.

As amember of the team, you will contribute to advancing the broader practice of UX at Targetthroughinfluence, impact, and craft, while also educating cross-functional teams when needed. We are an engaged, supportive, and increasingly diverse team focused on elevating the impact of our discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Use your skills, experience, and talents to be a part of groundbreaking thinking and visionary goals

  • Take the lead in the Guest Fulfillmentspace as you conduct and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research projects,such as:in person moderated testing, remote moderated & unmoderated testing, surveys, heuristic reviews, benchmark studies, concept testing, online & in-store intercepts, ethnographies,shopalongs

  • Utilize both quantitative and qualitative research methods and know when to use one or the other

  • Support Principal and Lead Researchers with research requests, from scoping initiatives, executing testingneedsand synthesizing findings

  • Support product teams (product managers, product designers, engineering) throughout the research project life cycle – recommending appropriatemethodology, scoping, and coordinating the entire process,facilitatingin-field research and post-research synthesis through analysis

  • Assistthe broader Product Research team in keeping our ongoing research library up-to-date and comprehensive

  • Hold design work to a high standard of craft, including accessibility, user research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design

  • Contribute toa culture of human-centered practice within UX, product, and engineering teams

  • Navigate complexity and ambiguity delivering impact for guests and the business 

About you:  

  • You’rean experiencedUser Researcherwith4+years of experience practicing UX design research for digital product teams

  • Experience in Lean UX Research methods, including remote moderated & unmoderated testing, online & in-context (store) intercepts

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;demonstratedability to effectively communicate complex concepts to cross functional partners

  • Genuine curiosity about people and experiences

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable speaking to a diverse group of people and leading conversations to discover research insights

  • A strong ability to tell compelling stories from data

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and the ability to prioritize;demonstratedability to manage multiple projects (both small and large) and adjust to changing priorities

  • Strong project management skills – experience managing multiple projects at various stages in the product design life cycle

  • Experience running, recruiting, moderating and analysis of online panels and thinking strategically about their application

  • Proficient inPowerpoint, Outlook,Wordand other MS Office software

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performedboth onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned toandvirtually,depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
