Sr. User Experience Researcher

As aSenior UX Researcher, you will define and execute user research programs, spanning a broad set of experiences and modalities. You will be embedded within a core product area, developing subject matterexpertisewhile delivering research that directly informs product strategy and design decisions. The research activities you lead will help the team develop a deeper understanding of the users we serve. You will help the team act on user insights to empower our customers and play a critical role in the measurement lifecycle, helping guide the team to address our customers' biggest pain points as theyaccomplishtheir jobs to be done.

About the Role :

In this role as Senior UXResearcher, you will:

  • Determineand recommend the most efficient and effective user-centered research approaches — qualitative and quantitative — to solve for business needs, meet agreed-uponobjectives, and guide business areas through theappropriate UXprocess

  • Lead exploratory and generative research studies, including discovery research that frames the problem space,identifiesuser needs, and gathers enough evidence and initial direction to define what to do next

  • Plan, design, and execute tactical research initiatives such as usability testing and concept testing, using both moderated and unmoderated methodologies (e.g.,facilitatedsessions, surveys, click tests)

  • Monitor UX project execution, includingestablishingand tracking relevant UX project metrics and UX product scorecards

  • Developfoundational UX research artifacts such asuser journeys, behavioural archetypes, heuristic guidelines, etc.

  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to help drive product and design decisions

  • Work collaboratively with UX designers, content writers, product teams, development teams, and other stakeholders as part of an agile software development process

  • Support, partner with, and influence multi-disciplinary teams — including leadership across product and other business areas — to execute UX projects

  • Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate and enhance research workflows and processes

  • Be a self-starter — take initiative and drive projects from beginning to end with a high degree of independence

  • Take ownership of self-development; stay current with emerging research techniques, tools, and AI-driven practices in the field of UX

  • Mentor andassistUX Researchers as needed

  • Be a dedicated advocate of a user-centered, evidence-based approach to product development, while balancing business needs

About You :

You are a fit for the role of SeniorUXResearcher if you have:

  • AMaster'sdegree or higher in a field such as Cognitive Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Human Factors, Engineering Psychology, Interactive Design, or a related discipline — or equivalent industry experience

  • 5+ years of UX research experience; candidates with aBachelor'sdegree and strong demonstrated industry experience will also be considered

  • Experience in UX research on B2B SaaS solutions

  • Experience conducting both exploratory/generative and tactical research, including usability testing and concept testing across moderated and unmoderated formats

  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research throughout an agile development process

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort planning, prioritizing, conducting, analyzing, and communicating research across a variety of contexts and stakeholder levels — including senior leadership

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build compelling research narratives and communicate insights effectively to cross-functional teams and leadership

  • A curious, hands-on approach toleveraginggenerative AI tools to accelerate UX research workflows (applied experience is a strong asset)

  • The ability tooperateindependently with minimal administrative overhead, whileremainingcommunicative and collaborative with your manager and key stakeholders

  • Experience with data analytics to inform UX research direction (nice-to-have)

  • A portfolio is a nice-to-have; all candidates will be expected to walk through at least one strong past project during the interview process

This role is hybrid. Candidates must be able to commute to their local office on a regular basis. Remote-only arrangements will not be considered for this position.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
For
Ontario, Canada, the base compensation range for this role is $105,000 CAD - $155,000 CAD.
Base
pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
This
role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
