SGI Global LLC is seeking a fluent Spanish-speaking Senior Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Advisor to support the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Mexico City, Mexico, which requires professional and administrative support services to work with the U.S. Foreign Assistance Program to Mexico

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Spanish FSI level 3.
  • English FSI level 4.
  • Bachelor's degree or graduate of a US Law Enforcement Agency; or associate degree with five (5) years related experience from an accredited institution or fifteen (15) years of related experience in law enforcement, international development, international affairs, or public administration.
  • At least fifteen (15) years' experience with U.S. law enforcement or military with a minimum of ten (10) of work experience in the aviation field and/or working background on unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Experience working with foreign government officials, preferably within Latin America, is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of State (DOS) MRPT.
  • Ability to deal effectively with senior U.S. and GOM officials.
  • Experience in drafting and authoring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

Duties

  • Leads the integration of Counter-UAS (cUAS) capabilities, evidence management systems, and digital exploitation tools into partner agency operations, while monitoring emerging technologies and advising on their implications for border security.
  • Designs and delivers advanced drone, cUAS, and border operations training programs, institutionalizing sustainable curricula and conducting readiness and post-training assessments to strengthen long-term operational capacity. The Advisor will support the development of both basic and advanced UAS training and equipping programs for new and current projects.
  • Coordinates cross-agency and international strategies on border and aviation security, tracks trilateral UAS initiatives, and provides strategic input to ensure emerging technology and exploitation priorities are integrated into national planning and bilateral cooperation.
  • Supports the Border Security and Weapons Teams (and other teams as assigned) with the development, execution, monitoring and evaluation of UAS programming in support of INL priorities.
  • Supports Mexican security agencies to provide in-depth assistance related to to UAS operations at an operational level, with emphasis on accurate data collection and the execution of high-value, intelligence-driven operations.
  • Advises on complex technical challenges related to procurement, maintenance, logistics, and operational issues associated with UAS, counter-UAS and UAS exploitation operations.
  • Coordinates with INL procurement and finance personnel to facilitate the purchase of UAS program goods and services.
  • Ensures compliance with legislative, execute policy, and translates program goals into results.
  • Supports Safety Manager and/or Safety Officer in the execution of their duties related to drone purchases as compliant with the Proposed Acquisition of Unmanned Aircraft System memorandum (maintained by INL/ACB/A) and 2 FAM 816.2-3 and 41 CFR 102-33.180.
