The Senior Underwriter - Growth & Middle Market is responsible for the submission generation, underwriting and policy issuance of Directors and Officers Liability, EPL, Fiduciary Liability, Fidelity insurance, K&R, and Cyber Liability for entities that meet the GMM account definition within the Northeast Region. The Growth & Middle Market department works with privately held companies with annual revenues of less than $1 Billion and publicly traded companies with annual revenues of less than $500 Million.
This will be a hybrid (3 days in office) role in New York, NY 10110
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Underwrite and price new and renewal business, to include financial and exposure analysis
Attendance at meetings with outside company management
Building and maintaining productive relationships with agents and brokers
Policy contract review and rating
Claims review
Binding of new and renewal accounts according to our underwriting philosophy and strategy
Coaching and developing the more junior underwriters in the region
Required Skills and Abilities:
Ability to develop strong relationships with brokers in order to successfully manage our business which will require travel to producer location or insured location
Exemplary oral and written communication skills
Analytical, with a keen ability to think through issues
Solid understanding of financial statements
Able to organize and prioritize to meet multiple demands and commitments
Effective negotiation skills
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Education and Experience:
3 to 5 years of D&O insurance underwriting
Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in Economics, Business, Finance or Accounting

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$80,000 - $120,000/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
