Senior Underwriter

We’re looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our Transaction Liability team. In this role, you’ll underwrite warranty and indemnity insurance across a broad range of sectors and jurisdictions, with a particular focus on London Market business. You’ll take ownership of complex, high-value risks while working closely with brokers, lawyers and clients in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.

About the role

This is a highly visible underwriting role sitting at the centre of complex, fast-moving transactions. You’ll work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, balancing technical expertise with commercial thinking to deliver solutions that support clients and help grow the portfolio. Alongside managing your own book of business, you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to team development and play a key role in shaping how the function continues to evolve.

• Underwrite Transaction Liability risks, including representation and warranty insurance, across a varied portfolio of domestic and international deals.
• Assess, structure and negotiate bespoke policy coverage in partnership with brokers, lawyers and clients.
• Lead on complex and higher-value opportunities, acting as a senior referral point for underwriting queries within the team.
• Build strong market relationships and contribute to new business development across the Transaction Liability portfolio.
• Support the Underwriting Managers with day-to-day team operations, coaching and the development of junior colleagues.
• Help drive underwriting excellence by promoting best practice, maintaining high standards and contributing to team strategy.

About you

You’ll be an experienced Transaction Liability underwriter with strong technical expertise, sound commercial judgement and the confidence to manage complex risks. You’ll be comfortable building credibility with external stakeholders and collaborating with colleagues across the business. Just as importantly, you’ll enjoy sharing knowledge, supporting others and contributing to a positive, high-performing team culture.
Experience underwriting international business and working with warranty and indemnity insurance is essential.
