Job Description

Your Role

We are looking for a hands-on UICC/eUICC expert to join emnify and own the engineering, interoperability and certification readiness of our Consumer eSIM (SGP.22) and IoT eUICC (SGP.32) products.

You will work at the intersection of eUICC profile design, GSMA test artefacts (e.g., SAIP/BAP), remote provisioning platforms (SMDP+/eIM), and real device/network behavior, ensuring our products meet the highest quality and interoperability bar before production rollout.

Your Impact

1) SGP.22 / SGP.32 engineering ownership (hands-on)

  • Drive UICC/eUICC profiles feature design reviews (filesystem, security domains, lifecycle rules, policy constraints) and translate product requirements into vendor-ready technical specifications
  • Lead the end-to-end validation of SGP.22 eSIM profiles and SGP.32 IoT eUICC capabilities (multi-form factor / multi-grade).

2) Certification readiness & test execution (SAIP / BAP + real-world)

  • Build, maintain and execute test plans and test suites for:
  • SAIP-based profile validation (consumer and IoT eSIM profiles)
  • BAP / IoT eUICC sample validation (SGP.32)
  • Run device + network interoperability campaigns (including lab + field testing), reproduce issues, and deliver root cause analysis across SIM OS / applet / device modem stack / network.

3) Remote provisioning platforms & vendor coordination

  • Act as technical owner for interactions with SMDP+ / eIM (APIs, operational flows, constraints) and coordinate with SIM/eUICC vendors (e.g., roadmap, defects, deliveries, acceptance criteria).
  • Define acceptance testing gates and drive production rollout decisions (go/no-go) based on objective evidence.

4) Applets & advanced SIM behavior

  • Support validation of advanced capabilities such as Multi-IMSI, IPAe and other Java Card STK applets, OTA SCP80-81 protocols behavior and device-specific constraints; ensure interoperability across vendors and device ecosystems.

5) Documentation & enablement

  • Produce high-quality technical artefacts: test reports, certification readiness status, defect write-ups, vendor tickets, and internal documentation to enable Product, Support and Customer teams.

Your Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in SIM/eSIM/eUICC engineering, validation, certification, or deeply technical solution engineering.
  • Direct, proven experience with GSMA standards and workflows, specifically:
  • SGP.22 (consumer RSP) and SGP.32 (IoT eUICC)
  • Practical understanding of test artefacts and certification-style validation (SAIP/BAP-type artefacts and equivalent industry flows)
  • Solid knowledge of UICC/eUICC architecture, profile lifecycle, security concepts, and OTA/provisioning operations.
  • Ability to debug complex cross-domain issues (SIM ↔ device ↔ network), write crisp RCAs, and coordinate resolution with vendors.
  • Excellent English (written + spoken) and disciplined documentation skills.

Nice-to-have (strong differentiators)

  • Prior work with SMDP+ / eIM / SM-SR / RSP APIs, automated validation pipelines, and test tooling.
  • Java Card / STK / proactive SIM, multi-IMSI steering logic, or advanced SIM applet behavior.
  • Familiarity with mobile core basics (HLR/HSS/AuC) and CMP-style operational models.
