Job Description

The TP ICAP Group is a world leading provider of market infrastructure.

Our purpose is to provide clients with access to global financial and commodities markets, improving price discovery, liquidity, and distribution of data, through responsible and innovative solutions.

Through our people and technology, we connect clients to superior liquidity and data solutions.

The Group is home to a stable of premium brands. Collectively, TP ICAP is the largest interdealer broker in the world by revenue, the number one Energy & Commodities broker in the world, the world’s leading provider of OTC data, and an award winning all-to-all trading platform.

Founded in London in 1866, the Group operates from more than 60 offices in 27 countries. We are 5,200 people strong. We work as one to achieve our vision of being the world’s most trusted, innovative, liquidity and data solutions specialist.

The Senior Software Engineer (Front End) will lead the design, development, and delivery of modern, scalable front-end solutions across mission-critical financial platforms. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership — setting UI engineering standards, driving architectural decisions, and contributing directly to high-impact systems within a monorepo serving multiple business domains. You will work within Agile, cross-functional squads, collaborating with architects, product stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver intuitive, high-performance user interfaces supporting complex financial workflows. You will also play a key role in establishing AI-assisted development practices and tooling across the team.

Role Responsibilities

  • Build modern, accessible web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React within a monorepo architecture.

  • Guide architecture and design decisions for microfrontend systems, ensuring solutions align with strategic technical direction.

  • Lead and mentor engineers, promoting best practices around code quality, accessibility, and knowledge sharing.

  • Implement robust testing strategies across unit, component, and browser-based tests.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features from design through deployment, including CI/CD pipeline configuration and release management.

  • Drive continuous improvement through experimentation, refactoring, and adoption of modern tooling — including AI coding assistants and agent-based workflows.

  • Ensure adherence to SDLC processes, CI/CD pipelines, and code governance tooling.

  • Support estimation, planning, and risk identification to enable predictable delivery.

  • Champion accessibility, performance optimisation, and web security best practices across the team.

Experience & Competencies

Essential

  • Deep understanding of the web platform — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, browser APIs, and web standards.

  • Strong TypeScript skills and experience building large-scale applications with React.

  • Experience delivering high-performance, scalable UI applications in complex or regulated domains.

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor engineers within Agile teams.

  • Experience with complex data-driven UI components such as data grids or real-time visualisations.

  • Proficiency with modern testing frameworks (e.g. Vitest, Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, Cypress).

  • Familiarity with code quality and governance tools (e.g. Biome, ESLint, SonarQube).

  • Strong understanding of performance optimisation and web security best practices.

  • Experience working with Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, and structured commit workflows.

  • Experience with AI-assisted development — working with coding agents and reviewing their output.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Desired

  • Experience with monorepo orchestration tools such as Turborepo or Nx.

  • Familiarity with module federation or microfrontend architectures.

  • Exposure to financial markets, trading platforms, or pricing systems.

  • Experience with modern bundlers such as Rsbuild or Vite.

  • Experience with Storybook for component documentation and visual testing.

  • Understanding of GraphQL or API client generation tooling.

  • Knowledge of containerisation, deployment tooling, or cloud-based UI environments.
