Design systems are more than component libraries. They are the foundation that enables great customer experiences at scale.

At RACV, we're looking for a Senior UI Designer (Design Systems) to help shape the future of our digital experiences. Sitting within the Group Design Practice and reporting to the UX Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in building and evolving the eCommerce design system that powers some of RACV's most important customer journeys.

From insurance quote-to-purchase experiences to self-service digital interactions, you'll ensure our experiences are consistent, accessible, scalable and ready for delivery. Working at the intersection of design and technology, you'll act as the bridge between UX and Engineering, translating customer journeys and design intent into reusable components, patterns and standards that can be implemented across digital channels.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to RACV's evolving eCommerce customer experience vision and support major integration initiatives while helping establish a design system that drives quality, efficiency and consistency across the organisation.

What you'll be doing

  • Design and evolve the eCommerce UI design system, including components, patterns, tokens and interaction standards
  • Translate UX journeys, concepts and flows into scalable, reusable UI assets
  • Define component specifications, behaviours, states, accessibility requirements and edge cases
  • Ensure the design system supports complex transactional and eCommerce experiences, including quote, purchase, account and servicing journeys
  • Partner closely with designers and developers to ensure design solutions are technically feasible and aligned to platform constraints
  • Create clear documentation that supports efficient design-to-development delivery
  • Champion accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) and inclusive design principles
  • Drive consistency across customer journeys while maintaining a strong, brand-aligned visual language
  • Facilitate collaboration across Product, Design, Technology and Development teams
  • Contribute to the ongoing governance, scalability and maturity of RACV's design system
  • Explore responsible uses of AI and automation to improve design-to-development workflows

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years' experience in UX/UI Design, Design Systems or similar roles
  • Strong visual design and interaction design capability with a systems-thinking mindset
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining design systems, component libraries and design tokens
  • Deep understanding of responsive design, interaction patterns and design system architecture
  • Experience translating UX concepts into structured, reusable UI components
  • Strong experience working with Figma, including component libraries and tokens
  • Proven ability to collaborate with engineers to bring design systems to life
  • Experience delivering complex digital products, eCommerce or transactional experiences
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design rationale and system thinking
  • Passion for accessibility, inclusive design and high-quality customer experiences
  • Ability to thrive in complex environments and work autonomously while aligning to a broader vision

There’s so much on offer when you join RACV

  • A flexible, informal work environment that supports balance between work and home
  • Generous discounts on home and car insurance policies and RACV roadside care
  • Great discounts across RACV resorts
  • Monthly-updated discounts from a wide range of corporate partners
