In this role, you'll:

  • Support the development and implementation of transport strategies and strategic projects aligned to government priorities and organisational objectives
  • Apply strong research and analytical skills to produce evidence-based advice grounded in transport principles and policy frameworks
  • Prepare high-quality documentation, submissions and reports that are clear, accurate and decision-ready
  • Contribute to project planning, coordination and reporting, ensuring progress, risks and issues are effectively managed and communicated
  • Ensure strategy development and implementation are underpinned by robust evidence, consultation and alignment with policy requirements
  • Collaborate with specialist teams and stakeholders across Transport to support practical delivery of strategy initiatives
  • Represent the team in internal and external meetings or working groups, contributing technical input and strategic insight
  • Support a collaborative and inclusive working environment by modelling Transport’s Connected Leadership behaviours

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting transport strategy, policy development or strategic projects in a complex environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into practical advice
  • Proven capability producing clear, accurate and well-structured reports, briefs and submissions
  • Sound understanding of transport principles, policy frameworks and government processes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs within agreed timeframes
  • Confidence contributing to meetings, workshops and working groups with internal and external stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualifications, or demonstrated relevant equivalent professional experience
  • Experience providing research, analysis or advisory support in transport, planning, policy or strategy roles
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
