Named ACE Best Large Consultancy of the Year 2022 and accredited by Investors in People and Investors in Wellbeing, we combine technical excellence with collaboration, sustainability and a genuine commitment to the communities we serve.

What you’ll be doing

Join our growing Transport & Accessibility Planning team as a Senior Transport Planner or Senior Engineer. You’ll deliver varied, high-impact projects for public- and private-sector clients, with the support and opportunity to take your career further.

We’re looking for an energetic, collaborative professional with sound judgement, a proactive mindset and the confidence to take ownership.

In this role, you will:

· Prepare Transport Assessments and Statements, Travel Plans, masterplans, traffic engineering schemes and technical reports for planning applications and transport projects.

· Apply key standards and guidance, including DMRB, Traffic Modelling Guidelines, Manual for Streets and local authority design guides.

· Support fee proposals and help deliver projects to budget and agreed KPIs.

· Represent projects in meetings and negotiations with local authorities and regulatory bodies.

Our portfolio spans small developments to national infrastructure. As you grow in the role, you’ll have opportunities to lead projects, manage budgets, mentor junior colleagues and support business development—giving you a real voice in the team’s future.

You’ll be challenged, supported and inspired, with clear opportunities for personal and professional development.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have strong experience in traffic engineering and development-related transport planning, backed by confident analysis and assessment skills. You’ll also bring:

· Confidence working with clients, local authorities and regulatory bodies.

· A sound understanding of client briefs, fee proposals and effective project delivery.

· Clear, confident communication and strong interpersonal skills.

· Strong technical writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

· Experience preparing Transport Statements and Assessments, Travel Plans, junction or network improvement studies, impact assessments, ES chapters, access studies and transport inputs for air and noise assessments.

· Experience using and interpreting junction capacity tools such as Junctions 11 and LinSig; larger network modelling knowledge is desirable.

· Experience preparing and checking drawings and figures in AutoCAD and GIS.

· The ability to work independently, lead defined workstreams and contribute effectively to a project team.

· Project and resource management experience, including mentoring junior colleagues.

· A degree in an analytical discipline such as engineering, geography or mathematics.

· Ideally, membership of a relevant professional institution, such as CIHT, CILT, IHE, TPS or ICE.
