Job Purpose and Impact

  • The Senior Transfer Pricing Analyst will support the Edible Oils business across Europe/EMEA and will be based in Bangalore, India. The role reports to the Transfer Pricing Lead, Food EMEA, located in Mechelen, Belgium.

    The position is responsible for ensuring that intercompany pricing of goods and services, and the profitability of relevant business functions, are aligned with Cargill transfer pricing policies and guidance established by the Tax & Customs function.

    The role will manage and improve recurring operational transfer pricing processes for the Edible Oils business, including transfer price calculations, margin monitoring, corrective adjustments, financial analysis, reporting, audit support, process documentation, and stakeholder coordination. The analyst will work closely with Tax & Customs, Accounting & Finance, Controllership, Commercial, Supply Chain, IT/data teams, and other shared service teams.

    This is a hands-on finance and transfer pricing role requiring strong analytical capability, disciplined process execution, effective cross-border collaboration, and the ability to operate independently in a global matrix organization.

Key Accountabilities

  • The role will work closely with Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain and Tax & Customs to ensure intercompany pricing for tangible goods and related services is operated consistently with the arm's-length principle and Cargill policies.

    1. Transfer Pricing Operations - approximately 35%

    • Lead recurring transfer price calculations and adjustments for the Edible Oils business in line with Tax & Customs guidance.
    • Monitor profitability of distributors, manufacturers, agents, and service providers against approved target returns.
    • Calculate and review distribution margins, manufacturing returns, commissions, cost recharges, and other intercompany adjustments.
    • Analyze actual versus target and budget results, investigate material deviations, and coordinate corrective actions.
    • Ensure accurate, timely, and well-supported transfer pricing postings and reconciliations at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.
    • Support transfer pricing processes within relevant ERP and reporting systems.

    2. Process Improvement, Systems & Controls - approximately 20%

    • Establish and maintain robust operational transfer pricing processes and controls, including ownership, review, documentation, and escalation.
    • Partner with Finance, Tax, IT, and data teams to ensure systems, reports, and data support transfer pricing calculations and monitoring.
    • Design and improve reports, analytical tools, and automation using Excel, Power BI, KNIME, or equivalent tools.
    • Assess transfer pricing and financial impacts of business, supply chain, organizational, or system changes.
    • Maintain process documentation, procedures, calculation files, and control evidence.

    3. Financial Analysis, Documentation & Audit Support - approximately 25%

    • Prepare financial analyses and reports for transfer pricing documentation, tax filings, statutory requirements, and internal reviews.
    • Provide financial information and support for tax audits, external audits, and tax authority requests.
    • Analyze the impact of restructurings, new operating models, and significant changes in intercompany flows.
    • Support Tax & Customs with economic analyses, benchmark implementation, local file support, and reconciliation to accounting records.
    • Coordinate with Tax & Customs and Legal to ensure relevant intercompany agreements remain aligned with the operating model.

    4. Stakeholder Coordination, Training & Governance - approximately 20%

    • Coordinate transfer pricing activities and deadlines across Finance, Tax & Customs, Commercial, Supply Chain, Controllership, and shared services.
    • Act as a key operational transfer pricing contact for the Edible Oils business, providing guidance on processes, data, and calculations.
    • Develop and deliver training on transfer pricing processes, controls, and responsibilities.
    • Proactively communicate risks, data gaps, control issues, and material deviations to relevant stakeholders.
    • Stay current on Cargill policies, business requirements, and transfer pricing developments relevant to the role.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Tax, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7-8 years of relevant professional experience in finance, accounting, controlling, tax, transfer pricing, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex business and financial processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with large datasets, reconciliations, and financial models.
  • Experience with ERP systems and finance reporting tools; ability to adapt to tools such as Power BI, KNIME, or equivalent analytics solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently, manage recurring deadlines, and collaborate effectively across countries, functions, and time zones.
  • High attention to detail, strong ownership, and a control-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a transfer pricing, tax, controllership, or finance environment within a global organization.
  • Working knowledge of transfer pricing concepts and the financial mechanics of intercompany transactions.
  • Experience supporting commodity, edible oils, food ingredients, manufacturing, or supply-chain businesses.
  • Understanding of distributor and manufacturer remuneration models, cost-plus arrangements, commissions, and intercompany pricing adjustments.
  • Knowledge of OECD transfer pricing principles, BEPS concepts, and transfer pricing documentation requirements.
  • Experience with SAP and finance process improvement or automation projects; exposure to AI.
  • Prior experience working in a shared services or global capability center environment.
  • Knowledge of Cargill businesses, systems, and finance processes.
