About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and driven Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Transport Planning & Advisory team in Brisbane This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of transport and infrastructure projects, delivering innovative, data-driven traffic and transport solutions that shape communities.

You will play a key role in technical delivery, client engagement, and mentoring junior staff, while contributing to the growth and success of our transport advisory business.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver high-quality traffic engineering and transport planning solutions across complex projects
  • Undertake traffic impact assessments, transport modelling, and intersection analysis
  • Apply advanced engineering principles to develop practical, efficient, and sustainable transport solutions
  • Analyse client requirements and translate them into robust design and planning outcomes
  • Prepare and review technical reports, including Transport Impact Assessments (TIAs) and feasibility studies
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, Austroads guidelines, and local authority requirements
  • Identify risks, constraints, and opportunities associated with transport networks and infrastructure
  • Manage and deliver projects within scope, budget, and time constraints
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and planners
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders

About You

You are a motivated and technically capable professional with a strong foundation in traffic engineering and transport planning.

You bring:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, or related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng) and/or RPEQ (or working towards)
  • Typically 6 - 8+ years’ experience in traffic engineering and transport planning
  • Experience in traffic impact assessments and transport studies
  • Proficiency in traffic modelling and analysis tools (e.g. SIDRA, VISSIM, Aimsun or similar)
  • Strong understanding of Austroads, Australian Standards, and local authority guidelines
  • Experience in road safety, intersection design, and network planning
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
  • Client-focused approach with proven relationship management skills
