Summary

CHS is has an exciting global opportunity within the Supply Chain group. We are seeking a Senior Trade Structured Finance (TSF) Specialist to develop and execute commodity trade-finance solutions across APAC. Based on-site in Singapore, tthis role will manage relationships with financial institutions, structure financing solutions based on CHS trade flows and provide support to CHS core business. The successful candidate will have experience in commodity finance, trade-finance instruments, bank relationship management, and physical commodity transactions.

Responsibilities

Financial Solutions and Bank Relationships

  • Develop and maintain relationships with banks across APAC monetizing commodity trade flows and pricing of payment instruments.
  • Partner with the Global Financial Solutions Director, to originate, structure and distribute commodity-financing solutions.
  • Develop financing structures to support CHS business growth in APAC and prepare China development and growth.
  • Support trade-finance pricing and negotiating letter of credit (L/C) confirmation terms with Trade Execution and Finance teams.
  • Work with Treasury to maintain and expand the regional banking pool.

Risk, Legal, and Governance

  • Support financial product and transaction internal approval processes.
  • Coordinate with in-house Legal and external counsel on legal due diligence, regulatory considerations, transaction documents, and loan documentation.
  • Ensure country and product approvals are in place and maintained with Compliance and limits up to date with Credit risk.
  • Ensure adherence to Treasury, Finance, Compliance, Risk, and internal-control policies and processes.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Prepare regular reporting and maintain effective coordination with stakeholders across APAC, EMEA, Latin America, and the United States.
  • Work effectively across global teams and time zones.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, International Trade, or a related field (or equivalent years of relevant work experience)
  • 4+ years of experience in commodity finance, trade finance, treasury, banking, or a related field to include:
  • Strong knowledge of commodity-financing instruments and physical commodity transactions
  • Experience in credit-risk analysis and commercial or P&L management
  • Established bank relationship-management experience in Asia
  • Fluent written and spoken Chinese and English

Additional Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in commodity finance, trade finance, treasury, banking, or a related field
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange (FX) products
  • Experience managing bank relationships across East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Oceania
  • An established network of banking relationships that can support APAC business development
  • Experience with Middle East banking relationships
  • Experience working in a global, cross-functional environment
