• 8x Temporary opportunities until 30 June 2029 full-time (35 hours per week), with the possibility for ongoing or further extension, dependent on future funding.

• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $128,052 to $142,649 + super

Our Ecosystems and Threatened Species Branch is currently seeking to appoint 8x Senior Threatened Species Officers – Landscape Delivery to lead and deliver conservation and habitat restoration projects that support threatened species and ecological communities across NSW. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to some of the state's most important biodiversity conservation initiatives while working alongside communities, landholders, Traditional Owners and key stakeholders.

In this role, you will coordinate and implement conservation and habitat restoration projects, provide expert technical advice, build strong partnerships and support evidence-based decision-making to deliver positive biodiversity outcomes. Working within a collaborative and purpose-driven team, you will help drive landscape-scale conservation efforts while building relationships and influencing stakeholder and community engagement and participation in threatened species recovery and habitat restoration programs.

About You

• Demonstrated experience delivering conservation, restoration or natural resource management projects, ideally focused on threatened species, ecological communities or biodiversity outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective partnerships and work collaboratively with communities, landholders, Traditional Owners and government agencies.
• Sound technical knowledge of threatened species conservation, ecological restoration or landscape management, with the ability to provide expert advice and practical solutions.
• Excellent project management, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
• A proactive and adaptable professional who is passionate about biodiversity conservation and committed to achieving positive environmental outcomes across NSW.

Essential Requirements

• A science or natural resource management degree or a degree in a relevant discipline.
• A valid Australian driver’s licence with four-wheel drive experience and training preferable.
• Capacity and willingness to undertake regular and/or overnight travel as required.
