
Calibrates, installs, and maintains protective relays, meters and associated equipment, which will ensure efficient operation of plant, transmission, and substation systems. Calibrates, installs, and maintains substation equipment including high voltage breakers, disconnects, switches, transformers, and other equipment necessary for the proper operation of transmission level systems.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Associate of Science Degree in Electrical Technology or related area and eight (8) years of experience in in calibrating, installing, and in-service testing of non-microprocessor and microprocessor protective systems, and working knowledge of power plant and substation electrical equipment OR Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology or related area and four (4) years of experience in in calibrating, installing, and in-service testing of non-microprocessor and microprocessor protective systems, and working knowledge of power plant and substation electrical equipment. Two (2) years of similar experience may be substituted for each one (1) year of education.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.Conditions in the field, at times, may include extreme temperatures and noise levels that may require the use of ear, eye, and head protection equipment. The lifting and carrying of heavy test equipment and construction material up to 90 pounds is required. Position may require climbing transmission structures over 100 feet, working out of an aerial bucket truck, and working in confined spaces.
Working Conditions
While working in certain areas of the plant there is the potential for exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment. Requires extensive in-state travel. Must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions and work extended hours and schedules as determined necessary to ensure maintenance of facilities. Must be on call at all times for emergency conditions to assist in restoring equipment or line to service. Conditions also include exposure to potentially dangerous conditions existing on construction sites.
