Job Description

We are seeking a highly autonomous and proactive Senior Test Engineer for PCBA test development. The ideal candidate will take ownership of designing test solutions, updating test programs, and supporting EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) test operations.Key Responsibilities: 
  • Test Development: Design complete Teradyne TestStation TSLH test solutions (hardware and software) for ICT/FCT/ISP to test our PCBAs in series production. Take full ownership from concept to production release at the EMS.
  • Test Sustaining: Provide production support for existing Teradyne TestStation TSLH, Konrad LeonBench, Vitrek 951i, MPS TPP15, and Microtest 5267 test systems at the EMS. Provide remote production support for tester troubleshooting and yield analysis.
  • New Variants Implementation: Implement test programs and test fixtures (loadboard and jigs) for new variants of PCBAs and transformers.
  • Documentation & Quality: Prepare comprehensive test programs and process documentation (DFT reports, test specifications, test reports, test release procedures, etc.). Perform Gage R&R, Cp/Cpk Capability and MSA (Measurement System Analysis) reporting.
  • Automation & Tools: Develop internal test automation tools and backend data management systems using Python and Django framework.
  • Continuous Improvement & Support: Drive continuous improvement of current test programs and production workflows.
  • EMS Management & Deployment: Manage and oversee EMS test operations. Lead the release, installation, and buy-off of new testers at subcontractor and EMS facilities.
  • Global Coordination: Work closely with the Test Engineering team in Biel, Switzerland to coordinate and align on other on-going software and test development initiatives.
  • Independent Execution & Self-Learning: Work highly independently with minimal supervision, driving projects from inception to completion. Possess strong self-learning capabilities, able to master new technologies, tools, and processes independently without formal training.
  Education and Experience Requirements: 
  • Education: BSc or MSc degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in test development for PCBA, electrical components and integrated circuits.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong expertise in power electronics, analog, and mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Software & Programming: Proven experience in programming test sequences in LabView and TestStand (NI certification such as CLD/CLA/CTD/CTA is highly advantageous). Proficient in Python, LabWindows/CVI, C, C++ and C#. Experience in Django framework and SQL database is an advantage.
  • Platform Proficiency: Advanced skills in ICT and FCT programming on automated test platforms such as Teradyne Spectrum/TestStation, Keysight Medalist i3070/Agilent 3070. Takaya/SPEA Flying Probe a plus.
  • PCB Design: Proficient in PCB design and layout using Altium Designer.
  • Hands-on Skills: Extensive hands-on experience in electronics circuit design, test fixture development, and complex PCBA failure analysis.
  • Industry Standards: Experience testing automotive-grade PCB assemblies, with a solid understanding of VDA and IATF requirements. Familiarity with Partial Discharge Testing and Transformer Safety Testing is a strong plus.
  • Communication: Excellent command of spoken and written English, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to EMS locations in the Far East up to 10% of the time.
