Location: Bangalore

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will lead the design, execution and automation of test solutions for complex data platforms, ensuring data integrity, performance and compliance across our ETL pipelines. You will collaborate with data architects, developers and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into efficient test scripts and robust validation frameworks. Your deep expertise in SQL and Python will drive the development of scalable test cases and data verification tools, while your analytical mindset will identify patterns, anomalies and improvement opportunities in large datasets. You will mentor junior testers, champion best practices, and continuously evolve our testing strategy to support agile delivery and rapid innovation.

Requirements

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• Design and implement comprehensive test plans for ETL processes, data transformations and data quality checks.
• Develop, maintain and optimize automated test scripts using SQL, Python, and relevant testing frameworks.
• Execute end‑to‑end data validation, including source‑to‑target matching, data reconciliation and performance benchmarking.
• Analyze defects, collaborate with development teams to reproduce and resolve issues, and track defect lifecycle.
• Define and enforce testing standards, documentation practices and reusable test components.
• Monitor and report on test coverage, defect metrics and quality trends to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with data engineering and analytics teams to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct peer code reviews for test scripts and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay current with industry tools and methodologies for data testing, performance tuning and automation.
• Drive the continual improvement of test data management strategies and environments.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝘁

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in software testing, with a focus on data and ETL environments.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying, data validation and performance tuning across relational databases.
• Strong Python programming skills for test automation, data manipulation and integration.
• Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, DataStage) and data pipelines.
• Familiarity with data quality frameworks and data profiling tools.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement automated test frameworks and tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Proven track record of mentoring junior testers and leading testing initiatives.
• Exposure to Agile or DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous learning and process improvement.
