The Geospatial Analyst Solutions Directorate, part of the National Solutions Business Area, is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Test Engineer for the Maru program, a critical initiative focused on modernizing geospatial processing and exploitation mission software.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual Tester to support quality assurance efforts across web applications, APIs, and microservices within an agile development environment. This role focuses on executing manual test cases, identifying defects, validating system functionality, and ensuring software meets functional and performance requirements prior to release.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in manual software testing, requirements analysis, and defect tracking. This individual will work closely with developers, DevSecOps engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality, reliable software delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Execution: Develop, document, and execute manual test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements and user stories.
Functional Testing: Perform functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
API Validation: Validate RESTful APIs using the available tools.
Defect Management: Identify, document, track, and verify defects.
Requirements Analysis: Analyze system requirements and user stories to ensure complete test coverage and identify edge cases.
Test Documentation: Maintain traceability matrices, test artifacts, and supporting documentation in accordance with program standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with developers and cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, reproduce issues, and validate fixes.
Basic Qualifications:
US citizenship is required per contract.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 8-12 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
4+ years of experience in software quality assurance and manual testing.
Strong experience developing and executing manual test cases.
Experience testing web-based applications and RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with defect tracking tools and test management systems.
Working knowledge of RESTful services, HTTP, JSON, and web application workflows.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to automated testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
Familiarity with security or compliance-focused testing practices.

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
