About the business/role/team

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Automation Test Analyst to join the Functional Testing team in the Payments Settlements (PS) Department. The department is responsible for the settlement of interbank obligations arising from the exchange of payments in Australia, the conduct of Exchange Settlement Accounts and the settlement of the Reserve Bank's own trading activities.

As a Senior Automation Test Analyst, you will ensure new and enhanced systems, services, configurations, packages and interfaces perform as expected, and the risks associated with deployment are adequately identified, mitigated and accepted by all relevant parties.

A key focus of the role is to drive optimisation of the test automation framework and scripts, perform updates and creation of automated scripts required to deliver regular rapid changes to PS systems.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for a highly motivated and driven individual with

  • Must have hands-on experience in using build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle, etc), source control management tools (e.g. Git Lab, SVN, etc) and continuous integration tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc) in support of automation.

  • Must have experience in Selenium-Java

  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the delivery of test automation frameworks, scripts and tools. Experience in Cucumber - Serenity framework is desirable.

  • Experience in working with testing tools (e.g. JIRA, Zephyr, Database tools).

  • Proven experience in planning, support and testing of functional changes to mission critical systems.

  • Knowledge and experience working with Waterfall and/or Agile project methodology, as well as Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery processes.

  • Knowledge of payment, clearing and settlement systems and associated technologies.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence, collaborate and communicate strongly with team and key stakeholders.

  • Degree in IT, business, finance or other relevant discipline.
