This position reports to:

Project Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to create and complete bids, estimations, and quotations based on customer specifications, requirements, or budget to achieve market competitiveness and high margins for the company. Each day, you will maintain and improve the balance between all ABB units and customers in your area of responsibility. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting and collating the information required to prepare proposals, including both technical and cost elements.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solution Business (Medium Voltage) based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Leading the development of competitive bids, estimates, and quotations that deliver value-driven solutions aligned with customer specifications and business objectives.
• Produced high-quality tender submissions with accurate costing, risk evaluation, and complete supporting documentation within required timelines.
• Driving cross-functional collaboration to develop technical, financial, commercial, and project management components of proposals, including pricing and commercial terms.
• Maintaining compliance with organizational quality standards by ensuring timely, accurate, and well-documented bid preparation and risk review processes.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of experience in tendering, bid management, or cost estimation within the electrical solutions business.
• Proven experience in MV Switchgear, Compact Substations, E-Houses, and related electrical distribution products and systems.
• Solid understanding of electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), technical specifications, customer requirements, and technical clarifications.
• Comprehensive knowledge of risk management principles, financial analysis, commercial & contract terms, and legal considerations in tendering activities.
• Proven ability to perform under pressure, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality submissions within strict deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and cross-functional stakeholders.
