This job is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Key responsibilities include developing a technology strategy, ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards, promoting design, engineering, and organizational practices, and advocating and advancing modern, Agile solution delivery practices. Job expectations may include coaching, mentoring, providing feedback and hands on career development, identifying emerging talent, fostering leadership skills, and managing stakeholders.
The Technology Manager is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. This role’s primary responsibility is to the people they manage, ensuring team members are developing as engineers through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and career development.
In addition to people leadership, this role is accountable for team-level resource and financial management, engineering maturity, application management, and ensuring technology solutions comply with enterprise standards for risk, security, resiliency, and operational excellence. The Technology Manager will advocate for modern Agile software development practices, partner closely with Product Management, Product Owners, and business stakeholders, and contribute to the technology strategy for the supported domain.
This role will support teams delivering solutions across Workplace and Commercial Credit Technology platforms, including Salesforce, Mule, integrations, and underwriting-related applications in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Builds and manages teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees/teams to address feedback and achieve quality and performance objectives
- Facilitates performance and career development of employees/teams through performance reviews, coaching, and creating development plans that are needed to build competencies and skills
- Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met
- Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization
- Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain
- Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers
- Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders
- Oversee team-level financials, resource planning, and capacity alignment to support delivery priorities.
- Build and lead high-performing engineering teams; own hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
- Drive individual and team development through clear maturity goals, feedback, and career progression planning.
- Establish and track engineering metrics (quality, tech debt, defects, cycle time, predictability) to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead Agile/SAFe execution, ensuring alignment to PI objectives and adoption of modern engineering practices.
- Partner with Product Management and stakeholders to align delivery with product strategy and business outcomes.
- Own application management, including prioritization of tech debt, resiliency, security, and compliance initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise standards across risk, financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Be accountable for production health, including stability, performance, security, and data management standards.
- Manage relationships with business and technology partners; contribute to domain-level technology strategy.

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, technology delivery, or application development
- 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams and managing people
- Demonstrated success coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers in an Agile environment
- Experience managing team performance, career development, and talent planning
- Strong understanding of modern Agile software development practices and engineering excellence measures
- Experience with application management, production support, risk controls, compliance standards, and audit support
- Ability to work effectively across business, product, technology, and operations stakeholders
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience working in global, matrixed, and onsite/offshore delivery models
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in Commercial Credit Technology, Deals & Underwriting Train, or related banking technology domains
- Experience supporting large scale enterprise initiatives and enterprise internal platforms
- Working knowledge of Salesforce, Mule, enterprise integration patterns, and underwriting-related applications
- Familiarity with nCino, ETL/Informatica, and API-driven architectures
- Experience operating within SAFe Agile environments
- Prior experience supporting highly regulated environments with strong risk and compliance controls
- Relevant certifications such as SAFe Agilist, Scrum, PMP, or Salesforce certifications
