Senior Technologist – Stat Lab LahoreEntity: Aga Khan University HospitalLocation: Lahore, PakistanIntroduction:The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Aga Khan University is a dynamic academic which serves the diagnostic needs of the country through its clinical laboratory services that spreads across Pakistan. AKUH’s Clinical Laboratory is College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited and caters to the need of the entire country through its tertiary lab at the main campus and 300+ specimen collection units and 13 stat labs across Pakistan.The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine consists of five major sections namely Chemical Pathology & Transfusion Medicine, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. Each section is academically driven and is highly engaged in research and undergraduate, postgraduate teaching and training.AKU is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to safeguarding and aims to adopt appropriate standards for safeguarding and promoting a respectful relationship with and between all faculty, staff, trainees, volunteers, beneficiaries, wider communities, and other stakeholders with whom it works, including children and vulnerable adults and expects all employees/trainees and partners to share this commitment.Responsibilities:You will be responsible to:Perform complex clinical tests independently according to the procedures manual on a daily basis to ensure timely preparation of the final reportsAssist in teaching / training of junior staff, student and trainees according to guidelines provided as and when requiredFollow and assist supervisor in the implementation of safety standards according to Laboratory Safety Manual on daily basisEnsure through visual inspection that the junior staff carry out their activities as per the laboratory quality manual on a daily basisProcess and co-sign reports, including negative reports, of lab testsFollow safety standards in accordance to the safety manual on a daily basis to provide a safe working environment.

Requirements:You should have:BS/ MSc in Biological Sciences.Three to four years of experience as Technologist at AKU or six to seven years of relevant experience at a hospital or laboratory inclusive of two to three years of administrative experienceThorough knowledge of laboratory testing proceduresKnowledge of latest developments in medical technology fieldGood written and verbal communication skillsWillingness to work in shifts.Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
