Key Accountabilities:
Governance & Compliance Management
Coordinate, supervise and execute research activities by performing necessary duties related to compliance with statutory, regulatory and quality requirements, leading HSE programs for the safety of the workplace and people as well as maintaining and sustaining quality assurance in ensuring effective governance and compliance management.
Laboratory Operations & Services for Research
Coordinate the safety and standardization of research laboratories by providing consultancy (when necessary) on research experiments, risk assessments, space requirements, and equipment maintenance to ensure effective laboratory operations and services.
Laboratory Asset & Materials Management
Consult research centres on the equipment availability and stock check inventory reporting by ensuring the availability of research equipment and consumables as well as coordinating the supply of basic amenities to research centres (when necessary) to support conducive research environment.
Generic Accountabilities:
Codes Of Conduct & Business Ethics (Cobe) and HSE Policies
Communicate, interpret and champion the execution of the objectives and provisions of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and Codes of Conduct & Business Ethics (COBE) within the working team and undertake appropriate mitigation and/or intervention programmes to safeguard business operations, high staff discipline and industrial harmony.
Mindset, Behaviour and Culture
Develop and implement distinctive mindset, behaviour and culture within the working team to achieve high work performance by adoption and implementation of value interventions, tools and methodologies to promote and instil high sense of commitment, ownership, integrity and loyalty that will contribute to operational excellence.
Qualification & Experience:
Recognised Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, or a related field.
Knowledge and experience in chemical or environmental laboratories related to chemical processes, water quality, or water/sludge treatment.
Additional knowledge of QE/5S, risk assessment tools, and scheduled waste management will be an added advantage to ensure research laboratory operations comply with QE/5S standards and safety requirements.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good analytical skills.
Good interpersonal skills (team player).
