Job Purpose:
The Senior Technologist, Auto TD and OEM Technology liaises with Product Development, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Sales functions to deploy new products and geographic extensions.
The role holder is also responsible for the technical account management for specific auto OEM accounts assigned.
Key Accountabilities:
•Lead the technology deployment of new products by working with Product Development, Marketing, Supply Chain, CLT functions to plan a number of complex projects with launches in selected markets.
•For all launch markets manage the deployment inputs to portfolio and project management tools, ODIMS and TMS, provide support to marketing and supply chain with product mapping and formulation mapping in a systematic and transparent way to facilitate global implementations and initiate streamlines to manage specification/performance changes.
•Provide input from CLTs to product development throughout the programme and keep CLTs updated on product development progress.
•Work with Marketing, Legal and local Technical Support and Deployment to ensure that claims are relevant, valid and substantiated for local law, produce master Product Data Sheets in line with Product Development /Applications, Testing & Claims, and Marketing guidance.
•Lead the technical communications for new product launches using materials developed by Product Development /Applications, Testing & Claims and marketing, adapting where necessary or creating such materials to help local Technical Support and Deployment deliver technical benefits /support launches in an impactful way in the CLTs/to customers.
•Provide technical support for selected blend plants, advise on quality requirements of plant formulations, assist with quality waivers, support with manufacturing/scale up issues and approve plant formulations.
•Ensure transfer of best practice from launch to launch and implement changes from lessons learned.
•Be responsible for the technical liaison and account management for assigned OEM customers, serving as the prime technical interface between customers and internal teams (Sales, PD, Marketing, GSC...). Take charge of OEM technical roadmap and contact map. Be responsible for recommending technical solutions, providing tender/ bidding support, and conducting technical negotiations and approval coordination with customers.
Job Holder Requirements
•Degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Engineering or related technical discipline
•Strong project management experience
•Proven broad experience of lubricant development and technology commercialisation and deployment
•Broad knowledge of Castrol’s products (as applicable to the role) their composition, manufacture and application
•Demonstrate a collaborative approach to working
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills and experience of working with diverse cultures
Travel Requirement
Some travel may be required with this role, this is negotiable
