Job Description

As part of our Digital Transformation we are seeking a highly skilled senior Techno-Functional Business Analyst (TF BA) with strong expertise in process & data mapping, requirement & data analysis as well as data quality. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams by understanding business needs and how they fit into the business strategy, analyzing source systems, identifying data integration needs, and supporting the design of scalable solutions and business models.
The role focuses on translating business needs into clear, detailed technical requirements while ensuring solutions are scalable, feasible, and aligned with business objectives. The TF BA collaborates closely with the business, developers, architects, and QA teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
This role requires a blend of business acumen, technical data expertise, and analytical problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality data solutions that support enterprise analytics and decision-making.
This senior role requires strong stakeholder management skills and solid process & data skills. The role will own the domain “product & part” and therefore will work on the interface between product development lifecycle and all downstream processes and where they need part data (downstream processes such as Sales, Supply Chain, Service Assurance). Hence solid experience with modelling process and data streams for product and part processes is a must have for any candidate applying.


Business & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Consult closely with business stakeholders to understand business problems, pain points and requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by proposing solution options and trade-offs

Requirements & Documentation

  • Manage business requirements gathering and oversee creation and maintenance of all required documentation
  • Ensure requirements are clear, complete, testable, and traceable
  • Develop data and KPI definitions and implement these into our global data catalog

Data Analysis & Data Mapping

  • Perform data profiling, data quality assessment, and exploratory data analysis on source systems.
  • Map source-to-target data flows and define transformation logic for data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytics platforms.
  • Design Data models, Entity-Relationship diagrams, and document data definitions.
  • Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues and propose remediation strategies.

Technical Collaboration

  • Work with data architects, data engineers, BI developers, and solution architects to ensure accurate implementation of data requirements.
  • Support data mapping discussions and participate in design reviews to ensure alignment with architecture standards

Delivery & Quality Support

  • Propose and validate solutions against business requirements during testing phases
  • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by defining scenarios and validating outcomes
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and impacts related to proposed changes

Continuous Improvement

  • Support business users on data ownership and data quality processes and drive a data driven culture and mentality
  • Contribute to process improvements in requirement management and delivery practices
  • Maintain documentation standards and best practices
  • Support change management and impact analysis activities

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or similar role
  • Experience working as part of project team in global transformation projects, experience with part data model and product lifecycle
  • Solid experience with business, process and data analysis; technical expertise regarding data models
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, and product owners
  • Experience in understanding how data supports solid processes and hence adds business value is a must have

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Computer Science/ Economics/ Engineering/ Business Administration

Functional & Analytical Skills

  • Excellent knowledge on product lifecycle processes and integration into downstream processes
  • Excellent knowledge on product, part and BOM data models
  • Experience working on global transformation projects
  • Strong requirement gathering and documentation skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language
  • Strong attention to detail and structured thinking

Technical Skills

  • Exposure to databases and data flows
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure or similar
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Power BI etc), Databases (SQL etc), Azure.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Good communication and collaboration skills in a global environment
  • Good knowledge of English (written and spoken) is a must, German and Japanese is a plus.
  • Ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
