About Syenta
Syenta is pioneering a new era in semiconductor manufacturing with our groundbreaking Localised Electrochemical Manufacturing (LEM) technology. Our platform enables advanced packaging by combining patterning and metallisation into a single tool. We achieve high-speed, high-resolution metallisation at lower costs and energy use, while minimizing emissions and waste.
Founded in Australia, we are building a world-class team of engineers and scientists tackling some of the toughest challenges in semiconductor manufacturing. Our collaborative, people-first culture empowers individuals to take ownership, innovate, and deliver breakthrough results.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Technician - Manufacturing & Equipment to provide hands-on support across electronics, electromechanical assembly, and equipment maintenance. This role is critical to keeping our workshop running efficiently, supporting engineers with prototype builds, troubleshooting, and production-scale assembly.
The ideal candidate is experienced, independent, and highly capable: someone who can take ownership of builds, coordinate small projects, communicate clearly across teams, and bring junior staff along. Experience with 3D printing and custom machine builds is essential.
Responsibilities
Assembly & Technical Support
Build, assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic and electromechanical systems, subassemblies, and equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications
Maintain and service production equipment, including planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, and calibration
Support NPI builds and prototype iterations, providing hands-on feedback to engineering on assembly feasibility and process issues
Project Coordination & Ownership
Coordinate small build or prototype projects: track tasks, manage components and materials, communicate progress to engineering leads, and flag risks early
Manage your own workload independently, escalating blockers where necessary
Ensure tasks are completed efficiently, on time, and to high-quality standards
Workshop & Process Management
Own the workshop and lab environment: tool and equipment management, consumables, 5S, and safety compliance
Create and maintain technical documentation: assembly records, test logs, maintenance records, and work instructions
Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise assembly processes and equipment usability
Requirements
3+ years as a technician in electronics, electromechanical, or manufacturing environments
Hands-on experience with 3D design and 3D printing
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and BoMs
Skilled with test and measurement equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies, signal generators
Demonstrated ability to coordinate or lead small projects or build activities independently
Project tracking skills: can manage tasks, escalate blockers, and report status clearly
Familiarity with 5S, lean principles, or structured workshop management is a plus
