Job Description

Celanese is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Bishop, TX. This individual will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment. The need to be highly proficient in troubleshooting and demonstrate those skills to ensure that equipment operates efficiently and safely. They also need to have a good understanding of machinery and know how to operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine preventative and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Perform precision alignments using laser alignment tools, dial indicators, and other instruments.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine specifications.
  • Perform machine work using a lathe, mill, and drill press.
  • Complete level C RCAs on failures.
  • Ensure safety compliance, conduct inspections, and follow regulatory standards.
  • Install, maintain, and rebuild equipment.
  • Align with Celanese MTTC and the operating model.
  • Provide training on best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Technical knowledge of machine tools, materials, and machining procedures
  • Proficient use in SAP.
  • Process and equipment knowledge.
  • Ability to work a 10-hour shift (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) along with callouts and overtime when required.
  • Experience with rigging equipment such as overhead cranes to hoist and transport heavy equipment.

Required Years of Experience:

  • Min. 4-5 years preferred

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • NCCER certified
