Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager, this position provides access to bank systems and data, ensuring appropriate access rights are granted in alignment with information security best practices. Serves as a consultant to IT, project managers, and business unit staff to ensure that appropriate access controls are implemented.

  • Through use of Windows server and Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) administration tools, uses independent judgement to ensure appropriate access privileges are granted based on job function in alignment with the principal of least privilege. Conducts regular departmental self-auditing to ensure accuracy in entitlements process.
  • Serves as consultant to project teams on specific bank projects to ensure appropriate access entitlement controls are in put in place and maintained in BOH and vendor environments.
  • Serves as consultant to business units to ensure that appropriate access entitlement controls are put in place as appropriate. Provides input to the IT Controls and Compliance Manager on process and procedures for business units. Works with business users to understand needs and define security and access administration requirements. Fosters a positive business partnership ensuring technology is appropriately matched with business needs and strategic plans. Provides recommendations based on strategies and needs.
  • Ensures periodic entitlements revalidations are conducted by bank managers in order to ensure that staff have appropriate access entitlements.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
  • Level is dependent on years of experience and size/complexity of prior positions held.
  • Sr Technician requires a minimum 6 years of information security/information technology work experience with 2 to 6 years in an access entitlements administration role or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint and SharePoint) or similar software. Knowledge of or ability to use bank software and systems.
  • Working knowledge in Windows and Active Directory security environments or similar identity and access administration experience is required. In addition, PC proficiency, product research, evaluation and solution definition experience required. Proficient knowledge of information security risk assessment frameworks and risk management methodologies also required. In addition, working knowledge in UVIX and/or RACF security environments preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills. Must have strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative work style and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management. Must possess strong influence and problem solving skills with the ability to adapt their approach as required to achieve goals in different business areas. Possesses analytical skills, knowledgeable of information security systems concepts, awareness of and openness to new approaches and techniques in information security technology and able to identify and implement process improvements. Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned. Must be able to provide own transportation or to operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license, and able to commute and arrive at intended destination in a timely manner as required. Must be able to work at multiple job locations.
