This role provides essential technical support for the construction, operation, and maintenance of experimental test benches. A key focus is metallic material science and chemical treatments and handling. The primary goal is to ensure the testing platform operates safely while delivering high-quality, reliable data for research and process evaluation.

• Pilot Operation & Monitoring: Safely start up, operate, and shut down test benches. Monitor real-time parameters (pressure, temperature, current density) to ensure steady-state operation.

• Material Preparation & Testing: Responsible for sample processing and preparation of metallic materials. Execute metallographic preparation (cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing) and conduct Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

• Chemical Treatment & Management: Perform chemical etching, pickling, and surface treatments for metal specimens. Manage chemical reagents and hazardous materials Ensure safe handling and disposal of acidic/alkaline waste.

• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine preventive maintenance on test benches and analytical instruments Calibrate sensors, mass flow controllers, and specialized material testing equipment.

Safety & HSE Compliance: Strictly adhere to Air Liquide’s safety standards and regulations. Contribute to safety risk assessments.

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Material Science / Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field (e.g., Process Technology).

• Technical Skills: Experience in a laboratory, pilot plant, or material testing center.

  • Practical knowledge of metallographic analysis, mechanical property testing, and non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.

  • Ability to read P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), technical schematics, and material inspection standards.

• Basic understanding of electrochemical systems is a significant plus.

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong manual dexterity (essential for precision processing) and mechanical aptitude.

  • Analytical mindset with high attention to detail for test data integrity

  • Team player who communicates effectively with researchers and engineers.

Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and comfort learning proprietary Control System software (e.g., LabVIEW, SCADA).
