Senior Technician – Digital Engineering

This role sits within our bridges and civil structures engineering business in Transport. You will take the lead Draughting/BIM modelling role. Open to locations Christchurch or Auckland.

• Preparation of drawings, using 2D/3D AutoCAD (or Civil 3D), and REVIT software and a high level of understanding for a wide range of structural projects.
• Prepare graphical presentations for consultation and presentation of concepts to the public and clients using a range of appropriate software.
• Actively seek out international best practice and widely promote ‘best practice’ and innovation.
• Help identify technical areas for development and improvement.
• Become a mentor for other staff in technical aspects, developing them to their full potential and planning succession in their areas of expertise.
• Lead local, and offshore task teams on appropriate scale projects to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality.
• Ensure all tasks undertaken are in accordance with the required technical standards and in accordance with WSP’ management systems.
• Ensure that personal contributions to projects are managed to meet time allocated, target completion and required standards.
• Regularly communicate with, and seek feedback from, clients and project teams, reflecting on the performance of one’s self and the team and apply learning and improvement principles.
• Undertake internal technical reviews and verification checks on bridges and civil structures drawings and BIM models and provide associated advice

About you:

• National Diploma in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent qualification or qualifying work experience.
• At least 10 years’ experience in CAD draughting and/ Infrastructure modelling.
• Chartered Member (CMEngNZ (Engineering Technician)) status or equivalent relevant tertiary qualification preferred.
• Preferably minimum of 6 years’ professional experience in a related discipline.
• Able to work unsupervised on large projects
