REQUIREMENT ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE

• Malaysian citizenship
• Minimum seven (7) years of working experience with preference at least three (3) years in construction project.
• Prior experience in any project site supervision is advantageous.
• Ability to supervise contractor works at site and working together with Owner’s Engineer.
• Strong technical and engineering background in Control & Instrumentation (C&I), including familiarity with installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Experience in fast-paced environments and managing cross-functional projects.
• Experienced in managing multiple cross-functional projects with a focus on adhering to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with passes in at least six (6) subjects, including a credit in Bahasa Malaysia and passes in the following subjects
• ✓ English
• ✓ Mathematics
• OR Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia Vokasional (SPMV), subject to the following requirements:
• ✓ Credit in Bahasa Malaysia with a minimum Grade C.
• ✓ Minimum Academic Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00.
• ✓ Minimum Vocational Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.67.
• Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related field from a local Polytechnic or a university / educational institution recognised by the Government of Malaysia and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
• Basic understanding of project management methodologies and risk management for planning, executing, and controlling large-scale asset development projects.
• Basic understanding in C&I works, including installation and commissioning of C&I equipment, apparatus, and systems.
• Familiarity with power plant design, specifically C&I standards for hydro plants.
• Understanding relevant laws, regulations, standards, guidelines and permitting processes related to power plant construction and operation.
• Demonstrates expertise in hydro project lifecycle management, encompassing all phases from planning and execution to successful closure.
• Possesses a strong working knowledge of power plant technologies, operation, and maintenance (O&M) requirements, and relevant industry regulations and best practices.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.

Accountability & Responsibility

Project Oversight :
• Provide technical expertise and support as part of the Owner's Engineer team.
• Conduct comprehensive inspections and supervise all construction activities, focusing specifically on Control & Instrumentation (C&I) works.
• Support the Project Team in handling execution contingencies.
• Participate in progress meetings to track project milestones related to C&I works.
• Maintain effective communication and positive relationships with project stakeholders

Project Controlling :
• Assist in ensuring the smooth implementation of C&I works according to the project scope, managing changes and variances.
• Implement approved risk mitigation actions and provide feedback for improvement.
• Assist in hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRADC) for C&I-related tasks.
• Monitor site safety and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations

Quality Assurance and Control :
• Inspect materials and installation methods to ensure compliance with approved plans and C&I standards.
• Monitor work progress against the approved program.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographic documentation.
• Perform all inspections and testing for C&I works according to the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Identify and address non-conformances or defects promptly.
• Advise on issuing stop-work orders if safety or project specifications are compromised

Project Warranty & Closure
• Conduct pre-handover inspections for C&I works to identify and register defects.
• Ensure all registered defects are rectified within the warranty or contractual period before completion certificates are issued.

Support Function
• Provide fully support to OSHMS and EMS. Ensure strict adherence to all internal HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures. Create and maintain a safe and conducive work environment. Promptly report any unsafe acts or conditions through the HSE wallet.
