Job Description

The National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC) Division of the Leidos Fed Civ IT Business Area currently has an opening for a Sr. Technician. This position will be part of a dynamic team working to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Oklahoma City at their Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center location.

The Sr. Technician will provide the AJW-142 En Route Surveillance Team, Long Range Radar (AJW-142) radar technician services at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collect, maintain, organize, compile, and manipulate technical data.
  • Create, build, assemble, modify and/or repair prototypes.
  • Lead operations within an area that has direct impact on the results of the customer’s taskings.
  • Resolve complex problems and issues that require complete understanding of the overall task.
  • Provide electrical and electromechanical fabrication, installation, implementation and deployment support for radar, communications, and miscellaneous activities related to AJW-142 projects.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance, restoration and any other services to the radar sites, while maintaining the security of the radar site.
  • Design, develop, and provide electronic equipment modifications or system support modifications on the AJW-142 equipment and provide technical documentation of the systems.
  • Provide configuration management support on both the system software and hardware documentation.
  • Create cost estimates for system modifications and engineering support for the life of the program.
  • Regularly communicate schedule, milestones, risks, and work progress.
  • Responsible for in-service improvements and modifications of assigned NAS systems (e.g., CARSR, ARSR-4 and other evolving system) as well as support for the DoD, DHS, and other federal agencies’ tactical homeland defense initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Able to create, build, assemble, modify and /or repair prototypes.
  • Able to resolve complex problems and issues that require complete understanding of the overall task.
  • Must have previous experience in electrical and electromechanical fabrication, installation, imple‐mentation and deployment support for radar, communications, and miscellaneous activities relative to AJW-142 projects.
  • Knowledge of on-site technical assistance, restoration and any other services to the radar sites, while maintaining the security of the radar site.
  • Prior to starting employment, the selected candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance. Once employed, the selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, as well.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the design, develop, and provide electronic equipment modifications or system support modifications on the AJW-142 equipment and provide technical documentation of the systems.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
