Helm Point Solutions is a woman-owned cybersecurity and physical security firm supporting the nation’s most critical systems and infrastructure. We’re seeking detail-oriented, security-cleared Senior Technical Writer to support our new 5-year Prime award in the Ft. Meade area. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents across programs and contracts of varying scope and complexity. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that technical information is clearly documented and easily understood by both technical and non-technical users.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Write and edit technical documentation for all project hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and “how-to” guides.
Create and maintain code documentation for software applications.
Develop and update implementation guides, user manuals, and end-user documentation.
Produce field documentation, data definitions, and data flow descriptions.
Format technical publications, drawing from a variety of resources such as pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with subject matter experts (SMEs).
Collaborate with engineers, developers, testers, and other technical staff to ensure accuracy and clarity in documentation.
Maintain consistency, version control, and compliance with established documentation standards.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of eight (8) years as a Technical Writer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
A Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline may substitute for two (2) years of experience (reducing requirement to six years).
In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, four (4) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted
