PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To develop, implement and manage the HRD function by ensuring that all operational objectives are met through liaison between Line Management and HRD.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12/NQF4 equivalent is essential
  • Level 5 ETDP qualification is essential
  • Assessor/Moderator qualification is essential
  • Trade Certificate is essential
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in a supervisory position within the mining environment is essential
  • Must have a valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate

COMPETENCIES:

  • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Analysing and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of the Mine Health & Safety Act
  • ISO 9001
  • Internal Training Processes

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Assists with implementation of new technology by ensuring that employees acquire necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Assists line management by implementing effective ad hoc training interventions when identified (Follow-up training, Reporting & Recommendations).
  • Coordinates, controls and ensures compliance within the ISO and SETA requirements.
  • Effectively manages and monitors all HRD systems.
  • Communicates all new and changed standards and procedures to employees and line management.
  • Conducts effective needs analysis with regards to client/line management processes and systems.
  • Manages additional training for the prevention and uplifting of section 54s.
  • Coordinates training related issues and any instructions and recommendations from the DMRE.
  • Manages all trainees to ensure that the experiential training process is effective.
