
Support advanced manufacturing facilities and industry engagement at Western Sydney University’s Factory of the Future.
The Opportunity
The Factory of the Future Senior Technical Support Officer is responsible for the provision of technical support in the Factory of the Future facility, which includes smart manufacturing equipment and other advanced resources supporting teaching, research and industry activities.
The Senior Technical Support Officer will also promote industry engagement and support the delivery of activities to the community. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing materials and equipment prior to technology demonstrations and learning sessions, as well as conferring safety guidance to university guests (e.g. companies, schools), staff and students to ensure safe and effective participation across all activities.
The Senior Technical Support Officer ensures the equipment and facilities within their scope are adequately used and maintained, supporting reliability, availability and optimal performance. The role may require the individual to occasionally take on a supervisory role of technical staff members, while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and the overall capability and effectiveness of the facility.
