PROFILE:

You graduated with a Master of Engineering, Computer Science or any other relevant field

As a born leader, you want to oversee all the technical aspects of the business and provide your perimeter with adequate support

You demonstrate a growth mindset and love to manage the implementation of innovative ideas

You like defining new ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships

You are willing to engage and develop the teams of your scope through challenging approaches

You are proficient with all the technical aspects of the business:

You have in-depth knowledge of relevant engineering tools, methods, standards and processes

You are able to ensure and capitalize effective research on the market so you can see the evolutions and stay up-to-date on technological advancements

You can take a step back and use independent judgment to ensure that technical projects and products are effectively aligned with the required quality and acceptance criteria

You have a proven capacity to ensure success through time and cost estimates for your perimeter

You are proficient with risks and opportunities management

o Knowledge of ESA and Space Institutions working processes

o Knowledge of TASI organization and processes

LIFE AS A THALES TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT ROLE

As a Technical Management Role within Thales, you will Take in charge the following missions, according to your perimeter:

Entity/Country:

Make sure that the engineering teams of the country or legal entity deliver results in line with the required quality and acceptance criteria

Nominate the Design Authorities for products and projects of the country or the entity

Guarantee that the engineering activities are performed in line with the product strategy as defined by the GBU

Ensure that the rules defined for engineering (tools, methods, processes and best practices) are followed and implemented

Be in charge of research budget of the entity and the execution of research studies in accordance to the Group R&T governance

Organize the deployment of the Intellectual Property Rights strategy within its country or entity

Global Business Line:

Define technical strategy of the GBU, the technical part of the products road-map, the investment plan (SFRD) for the “Engineering” part of the R&D

Implement the Design Authorities organization, guarantee its deployment and supervise its efficiency

Be the ultimate Design Authority of the GBU

Participate to the definition of the Group R&D strategy

Supervise the implementation and the deployment of the “experts” initiative

Personal and Behavioral Requirements

• M.Sc. or PhD in a STEM discipline
• 10+ years working experience in a hi-tech industrial entity, preferably in the optical/quantum systems business
• Team working and collaborative approach; open mindness to different working cultures and habits;
• Effective Communication skills
• Versatility and flexibility
• Critical thinking, problem-solving attitude
