We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Technical Specialist to join Cloud Platforms team and support our infrastructure services to progress the design, build and implementation of Technology and Infrastructure Solutions to meet our business and customer's needs.
This is an Auckland or Wellington based role and is a hybrid role with three days in the office per week.

What are some of the day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
What projects / mahi (work) will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?
The candidate will play a key role in BNZ’s significant migration from on-premise infrastructure to AWS New Zealand. A core focus will be helping ensure the transition delivers a customer experience that is as frictionless, reliable, and repeatable as possible.
What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?
You’ll have the opportunity to be doing highly visible, measurable work while mentoring others and influencing how engineers across the bank build, deploy, and run cloud services.
What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?
The biggest challenge will be bringing the AWS and Azure teams together to work cohesively, while aligning practices where it makes sense.
What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?
We’re looking for someone who is curious about emerging technology and trends, motivated by team success, and eager to share knowledge and lift the capability of those around them.
You’ll bring a sharp eye for identifying performance issues, along with the ability to resolve them and continuously improve systems and processes based on those learnings.
