Join Ingredion, where innovation impacts lives worldwide! Without even realizing it, you’ve experienced our work in your favorite chocolate, your pet’s food, the paper you write on, and your everyday snacks. As a global powerhouse across more than 60 industries, we harness the potential of natural ingredients to transform lives. Whether you’re just starting your career or bringing years of experience, there's a place for you here to make a real difference. Be part of our team that values a wide range of perspectives and is committed to shaping a better world with every product we create.

As a Senior Technical Service Technologist, you will be responsible for providing outstanding technical customer experience and driving innovation, to create superior customer-centric solutions. You will be the expert in formulating, applying ingredients, understanding structural and functional relationships, and food processes within a specific region.

What you will do:

  • Act as the lead technical contact for assigned customers and defined key accounts, providing comprehensive technical expertise throughout the customer's innovation, troubleshooting, and cost re-engineering processes to meet business growth targets.
  • Share your extensive knowledge proactively, acting as a technical mentor within the organisation. Provide support to more junior team members.
  • Plan and conduct complex application trials involving formulation and process development or fine-tuning, in the presence of customers or at the customer's site. Work proactively on your own ideas and utilise customer feedback to develop innovative solutions, particularly within the specific key application category.
  • Utilise all resources to evaluate customers' recipes, ingredients, and processes to diagnose problems, independently apply food technology knowledge, and make recommendations on the best solution.
  • Leverage strong relationships across key stakeholders in the technical and commercial teams to influence, drive, and prioritise projects and activities aligned with the strategy and maximise business return. Within the specific key application category, develop strong relationships with raw material, auxiliary material, and processing/equipment partners.
  • Document technical work centrally and communicate project results internally and externally to customers. Record and share relevant customer activities and project updates in the customer relationship management system.
  • Evaluate the customer and competitor portfolio, expertise, and services to gain insights and share knowledge with the team.
  • Analyse and address complex technical issues and significantly improve, change, or adapt existing techniques.

What you will bring:

  • Degree, or equivalent, in Food Technology, Food Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
  • Strong experience in a Technical Service, NPD, or Applications team within specialty food ingredients.
  • Knowledge of dairy, savoury, beverage applications, including interactions with different food ingredients, systems, and food processing.
  • History of successful projects delivering product innovation and a proven track record of technically supporting customers in the food industry.
  • Advanced understanding of equipment and technologies to enable laboratory and pilot plant trials, with a focus on these application areas.
  • Proficiency in documenting technical work centrally (Knowledge Management) and communicating project results internally as well as externally to customers.
  • Fluent French and English communication skills (written and verbal) are mandatory. Due to the business-critical nature of this requirement, candidates without fluent French language skills will not be considered.

Who you are:

  • A recognized technical expert in food applications.
  • An innovative thinker who enjoys developing new solutions.
  • A skilled problem-solver who thrives on troubleshooting complex challenges.
  • Passionately customer-focused and relationship-driven.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and able to influence cross-functional teams.
