Job Description

As Senior Technical Service Manager – Dairy & Beverage, you are part of our APAC Application & Technical Services Team and will play a key role in providing technical support to our customers in ASEAN, India, and ANZ with a key focus on Dairy & Beverage Food category.

The key purpose of the role is to partner with sales to accelerate the business growth of Tate & Lyle Asia Pacific in the Dairy & Beverage Food category

About You

We’re looking to recruit a Senior Technical Service Manager – Dairy & Beverage in Singapore, reporting to the Technical Services Director based in Singapore.

The Senior Technical Service Manager leads one or more teams in developing complex, client-specific technical solutions and ensuring strategic alignment with wider sales objectives. This role provides expert guidance on high-impact issues, mentors a team of Managers and develops initiatives that support the Region or Country Cluster's service quality standards and client satisfaction goals.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead one or more Technical Service teams within a Region or Country Cluster, coaching team members and setting standards for high-quality support, technical excellence and customer-driven solution delivery.
  • Support key client accounts by overseeing technical solution development and resolving critical issues in collaboration with Sales & Account Management teams, acting as a senior advisor on complex technical issues.
  • Work closely with regional / sub-functional leadership in Sales & Marketing and Innovation & R&D to ensure that Technical Services activities support broader sales goals and align with R&D capabilities.
  • Review and update technical documentation for customised client solutions, ensuring content is clear, informative and aligned with product offerings and customer needs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the managed areas to enhance Technical Service efficiency, technical capabilities and service offerings.
  • Lead team meetings and strategic planning sessions to align Technical Service with evolving client requirements and industry trends within the Region or Country Cluster.

  • You must have a safety mindset and work with various stakeholders to assist the company to achieve EHS Excellence.

This role is assigned to our Singapore office located in Biopolis (Buona Vista MRT)

What You’ll have

Skills & Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge in multiple related specialised fields, disciplines, tools and approaches within the Technical Service function.
  • Advanced understanding of the policies, objectives, operations and related activities within a Technical Service Cateogories in the Region or Country Cluster. Expert knowledge in relationship management, sales and a key technical/scientific discipline within Technical Service, and broad knowledge of several related disciplines.
  • Advanced communication skills to persuade and influence stakeholders. The role needs to adapt styles, interpret and explain information to different audiences from inside and outside the organisation who are not familiar with the subject matter.
  • Lead one or more teams of Technical Service professionals. Accountable for establishing and meeting team targets, delegating work and managing resources within a Region or Country Cluster, including line management duties and budgeting.
  • Oversee the resolution of complex or unusual issues, utilising original thought or unique approaches and sophisticated analytical techniques to guide the development of internal processes.
  • Proven ability to significantly influence sub-regional outcomes through effective decision-making for assigned team(s).
  • Able to direct the application of existing principles and provide insights to senior management about the development of new policies, ideas and approaches.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of technical services experience in Beverage or Dairy industrial ingredients for categories, with a proven track record in developing solutions.
  • Solid analytical skills and business acumen to drive strategic decisions which improve sales performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally, managing relationships and executing technical services strategies in different locations across the assigned region.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and above or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field.
